Bathing Your Precious (Full-Body) Silicone Baby
Some artists suggest avoiding baths altogether, but warm water and a gentle silicone-safe cleanser will not harm your baby — as long as the routine is very gentle and free from rubbing or scrubbing. Bathing can remove lint, dust, and oils from the surface and can be a wonderfully soothing, bonding experience for any silicone doll mumma.
Fill a baby bath or sink with warm (not hot) water. Add a small amount of Silicone-Safe Shampoo & Baby Bath into your hand and softly smooth it over your baby’s body and hair using only your fingertips. Avoid flannels, sponges, or anything that may create friction on the delicate painted surface.
To rinse, gently swish the water around your baby or use a very soft baby sponge to squeeze water over their skin, taking care not to wipe or rub. You can also hold baby briefly under a gentle stream of warm running water — especially useful for rinsing the hair thoroughly. Ensure all soap is removed before lifting baby out onto a soft, absorbent towel.
Drying should be done with the same gentleness: dab rather than wipe, or allow baby to air-dry on a towel to avoid any friction.
Once completely dry, apply Silicone Velvet or SAM SFP2 matting powder using a soft brush. Press lightly to cushion the surface and then brush away any excess. This keeps the skin beautifully soft, reduces friction from clothing, and helps protect your baby’s finish for many years to come.
