Tin-Cure Silicone Adhesive
This adhesive is a low-cost alternative to products like Sil-Poxy and SAM-32, though it is not artist-grade like those options.
It is useful for basic silicone projects, such as:
- Repairing the exterior of molds
- Quick fixes on any silicone surface
It adheres to any silicone (both platinum-cure and tin-cure) but functions similarly to bathroom caulking.
Important limitation: if used on a silicone doll or similar piece, the surface cannot be painted or further repaired with platinum silicone afterward.
Usage Tips
- Test first: Apply to a small, hidden area or scrap silicone to confirm compatibility.
- Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated space to avoid inhaling fumes.
"I always have a tube of this silicone glue in the studio for quick repair jobs such as the outside of a mould, or where the quality of the product/job is not as important.
If in doubt use SAM-32 or Sil-Poxy instead, and always test an area first."
